Haven’t you ever dreamt
When you were a kid
To board a soap bubble
And ushered by some gentle magic and fairy dance dust
Hence travel
Free from all weight and burden and the mechanical strains of this World
Flipped upside down the right way up and rolling
To live delicate like air
Against all odds
Light as a caress
And maybe more?
‘Something wants to collapse’ is a dialogue with gravity. A wedding ring, put right in between the Earth and the Sky; between inside and outside, concentration and expansion, introspection and the others.
On stage, ‘Something want to collapse’ is a 40 minutes dancing piece for all audiences, where a Cyr wheel apparatus becomes the vehicle of a great journey. An invitation to get both feet off the floor and be bold enough to try a little softness.
In its original version, this performance includes a poem, spoken Live on stage. Removing this text, this work is a 20 minutes body-intensive short piece which dramaturgy still works. That is what I do when I perform in schools, for younger audiences for example.

Born in the middle of the pandemic and consecutive periods of restrictions and quarantines, this project first started as a joke. ‘All right so, is dancing with an iron bar something we still can do? Ok then. Next Boom Bap & Compagnie production will thus be a duet, of a dancer and an iron bar.’
This performance hence aims to stand as an ode to self-directed learning: a pillar of our collective vision and work ethics. Throughout the creation process of this piece, I first had to get acquainted with the Cyr wheel apparatus that I had never tried before and its technique, before eventually trying and reinventing its traditional use.
A year and a half later – 18 months of discovering and exploring new sensations and momentums and balance and tipping points and dizziness and fun stuff, preceding a research for original choreographic material -, the piece ‘Something wants to collapse’ came to Life; together with a poem that leads the spectator all along.
Here then, the Cyr wheel becomes a tool for a flight reverie – both physical and metphorical – as its classic use is hijacked and fuses with a 25 years of dancing experience.
In order to exist, this proposition only requires a 5 X 5 M flat surface. The audience would usually be sitting all around in a 360 degrees configuration.
It is completely autonomous and can be performed either during the day or at night time – although the smooth and delicate soundtrack makes it a nice morning or evening thing – and both inside or outside. Having an attachment point near the performing area – that can be a tree, a lamp post or anything of this sort – would be great too, as the wheel is supposedly suspended when the performance starts. But this is not even essential. The complete set-up, reconstruction and warm-up required time does not exceed 1 hour.
Everyone listens to me. The masses are listening to me.
The people are listening to me.
They will do whatever I want.
They follow me.
They have to.
Build a company just like you need.
But what happens if the mass of people wake up.
What can an individual do against a mass of people?

• Fragments of feelings looking for an answer. • Dialog between two bodies suspended in their own contradictions. Suspended in decisions that turn into a contrast of fragility and strength. • Somewhere in between… •

“Poster heart” is about the perception of love and what society thinks about it. Love can be so varied and at the same time so many things. It’s a reflection on having a healthy relationship with the word “forever.”

The piece is an aesthetical getaway from our everyday experience. I would like to transfer the sensation of utter euphoria and lightness, that I feel while defying gravity, onto the audience. I leave further interpretation of the meaning to the enjoyer.

The performance is a fast paced technical display of skill.

“Uru” is a solo piece for a rope and a person looking for something important. How can you look inside and outside at the same time?
“Manifest” is a fragment of the piece “No verbal”. “No verbal” is a contemporary circus solo that is inscribed in a plastic art universe. Plastic because drawing is used on stage and for the way the material is treated (in terms of its capacity to create meaning and to relate to space and the body).
The body has a central place in the piece and it is from this physical language that the story is built. The circus disciplines that are part of this vocabulary are balancing, acrobatic movement and contortion. Dance and theater are also present.
“No verbal” is a path that is traveled from honesty, a struggle to find one’s own voice in a world full of noise, a rebellion.
In “Manifest” Aurora appears with a phrase written on a piece of paper that serves as a dress: “The human creates his own prison”.
From this message she goes through different states and conflicts, thus achieving transformation.
These conflicts are expressed through circus technique and movement. There is a physical search with the chair and a fragment of free body acrodance.
The plasticity and visual dimension of the piece are a highlight of the proposal.
The Bridge is a dance theatrical performance that talks about the experience of the Palestinian citizen while traveling outside Palestine, and he always goes through difficulties at the borders to be able to cross to neighboring countries or even go to the airport so that he can catch his plane. The events of the show revolve around the inspection areas of the Israeli authorities that control completely On the Palestinian borders and all the exits of Palestine, and with reference to the absence of an airport in Palestine, we always have to travel to Jordan so that we can travel to various countries of the world, and in this presentation I will talk about the suffering of the Palestinian traveler in just 20 minutes.
The Clown Angels are on a special mission. But the unexpected is round the corner!
Three detectives are investigating a mysterious case.
The problem is they’re clowns and nothing goes as it was meant to. Each time they reach the crime scene, their missions become funny games that distract them from their target. Will they find the guilty?
The clown is a link among various disciplines: physical theatre, visual comedy, mime, dance, acrobatics and singing. Few props let bodies, ideas and emotions emerge, through a deep work of physical research. By letting themselves be dragged into the games on stage, the audience can identify with each one of the three characters, as if there were only one clown who shows all sides of the personality of each human being. In its lightness and simplicity, the show is easily accessible by an audience of all ages.

Jannik Weiß is a juggler and diabolo artist from Germany. He found his passion for diabolo at an early age at the local youth circus. In the past he has performed on many different stages in the region of his hometown Koblenz. He recently moved to Ljubljana to study abroad and is looking forward to sharing his art in his new home town.
The performance is a fast paced technical display of skill.
In the workshop I will share tips and guidance on how to improve your diabolo skills for every level. The workshop will be in English (I will do my best to speak and understand a few words 🙂 )
Arsi and tesi – Tension and distention as the founding principle of action.
Every event that generates action consist of a relationship of cause and effect, where the relationship is the same as tension that asks to be resolved; the action lives in the middle, an allows us to tell stories.
This is a golden rule that is found in narration (textual-narrative form), in gesture (expression in movement), in music, etc. – it’s nothing but the constitutive motion of
any event from the macro to the micro scale.
The target of the workshop is to investigate this topic in close relationship with the scenic gesture, to increase awareness of one’s movements in the performance.
The activities are collective and centered on various aspects, ranging form micro-gestures to the management of the scenic complex (scenography and direction), both as constituent of theatrical space and of the theatrical time:
This workshop will be based on a conversation of two very distinct approaches, aesthetics and techniques: Silvia’s and Yann’s. Her background includes Ballet/Classical and Modern Dance; his revolves around the floor and inversions, as he comes from Breaking/Hip hop. We want it to basically cover the fundamentals of Contemporary dancing – including spine movement, floorwork and some contact improv/partnering among other things -, and we want it to be playful!
Open to anyone. Come ready to have fun and to try stuff!
A dancing and playful approach of this circus apparatus, open to anyone over 170 cm (sorry, these restrictions are due to the availability of apparatuses here!).
We will cover basic elements of manipulation of and relation to the object – walks, turns, trajectories, leading and letting yourself be led, throws and catches, tempos – before eventually reaching some more technical and spinning stuff. Get dizzy!
2 hours is pretty short to imagine being able to actually spin, but enough to get a first glimpse of what is possible with, without and around this Cyr wheel thing. Be ready to play!
